Director
James Mangold
American filmmaker born December 16, 1963, known for moving fluidly between genres rather than settling into one. He made his directorial debut with Heavy (1995) and followed it with Cop Land (1997) and Girl, Interrupted (1999) before directing Identity (2003), a psychological slasher built around a motel-set mystery that turns out to be taking place somewhere else entirely. His later work spans the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line (2005), the western 3:10 to Yuma (2007), and two X-Men franchise entries, The Wolverine (2013) and Logan (2017) -- the latter earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
