Richard Kelly
American filmmaker born March 28, 1975 in Newport News, Virginia, and raised in Midlothian, Virginia, where he graduated high school in 1993. Wrote and directed Donnie Darko (2001) as his feature debut while still in his mid-twenties -- a genre-bending cult favorite about time-loop physics and teenage alienation that became far more influential on home video and in later cuts than it was on its original theatrical release.
